AI Student Discounts (2026)

There is no official individual Claude student discount or promo code in 2026, no .edu checkout and no "Education" tab inside claude.ai. But students can still use Claude for free or cheaper through Claude for Education, the free tier, annual billing, the GitHub Student Pack, and free API credits.

OpenAI's 2026 Back to School offer gives eligible U.S. college and graduate students four free months of ChatGPT Plus (an $80 value), including ChatGPT Work. You verify enrollment through SheerID and must claim it by October 31, 2026. It renews at $20/month afterward unless you cancel.

Cursor closed its free Pro year to new student sign-ups on June 25, 2026 after fraud problems, so new students can no longer get a free year of Cursor Pro. If you already redeemed it, you keep your rate until it expires. What works now: the free Hobby plan for everyone, campus events for undergrads, and a credit request form for grad students, researchers and educators.

Perplexity offers verified students and faculty an Education Pro plan at $10/month (50% off the standard $20), plus a free first month. There is no longer a universal free year, but campus partnerships and, until they ended in May 2026, referral stacking gave some students extended free access.

GitHub Copilot is free for verified students through the GitHub Student Developer Pack. You get unlimited code completions plus 200 GitHub AI Credits a month for chat and agents, alongside 90+ other developer tools. Verify with a school email at education.github.com/pack.

Google gives verified college students 1 year of Google AI (Gemini) free, relaunched on August 19, 2026. US students get Google AI Pro ($19.99/mo value, with 4x higher Gemini limits and 5 TB storage); students in 140+ countries get Google AI Plus ($4.99/mo value). Redeem by December 31 and re-verify each year.

Notion gives verified college and university students a free Education Plus plan for a personal workspace: unlimited file uploads, 30-day version history and Plus collaboration. Sign in with your school email and enable it in Settings then Billing. The AI add-on is 50% off ($5/month) for 12 months.

Figma gives verified students and educators the full Professional plan at no cost through figma.com/education, including unlimited files, Dev Mode, advanced prototyping, FigJam and Slides. Student access lasts about a year before you re-verify, and you can renew as long as you stay enrolled.

JetBrains is free for verified students. The Student Pack unlocks all JetBrains IDEs, including IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate, PyCharm, WebStorm and ReSharper, at no cost. Apply at jetbrains.com/student and verify with a school email, GitHub Student Pack, ISIC card or an enrollment document. It lasts one year and renews while you study, plus 40% off for two years after you graduate.

Canva for Education is free forever for K-12 students and teachers with full Pro features, but you join through your school. College students get free Canva through Canva for Campus if their university has it. Everyone can use the 30-day Pro trial, eligible startups get Canva Pro free for 12 months, and students can find smaller percentage discounts via Student Beans and UNiDAYS.

Grammarly's best student deal is free Pro through your university: over 3,000 schools provide Grammarly Pro at no cost via institutional licenses. Otherwise, students get up to 50% off Pro through SheerID (dropping the annual plan from $144 to about $72), with smaller discounts via UNiDAYS and Student Beans. There is no direct percentage discount on individual monthly plans in 2026.

There is no standalone Microsoft Copilot Pro student discount in 2026. But students get Microsoft 365 Personal for $4.99/month (half off), which includes Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Many universities also provide Office 365 Education free, and GitHub Copilot is free through the Student Developer Pack.

Students and professors at verified institutions get one year of ElevenReader Ultra free by signing up with a school email at elevenlabs.io/students, plus expanded free access to ElevenLabs voice AI. Eligible students can also join the AI Student Pack, a bundle of 16 AI tools with around $1,500 in credits, and student founders can apply for ElevenLabs Startup Grants.

Students get 50% off the Replit Core plan by verifying with a school email, which brings it to around $10/month with full AI credits for Replit Agent. The old route of getting Core free through the GitHub Student Developer Pack is gone, since Replit left that program, so the school-email discount is the current student deal.

Descript offers verified students, educators and nonprofits an Education plan at $5 per editor per month, about 69% off the $16/month Hobbyist plan. There is no free student tier, but you apply with a school email, add a payment method, and Descript reviews and approves your request by email.
