One script tag or a CMS plugin, and within minutes you have an accessibility menu, a published statement, and a baseline scan that tells you where the real problems are. For a founder who knows they have an accessibility gap but has no budget for a specialist agency, that speed is genuinely valuable.

The scanner and AI remediation are useful for catching the obvious offenders: missing alt text, unlabeled inputs, low-contrast controls, broken ARIA. What they cannot do is turn a structurally inaccessible site into a conformant one on their own, and UserWay is more candid about that than some competitors. The widget improves the day-to-day experience for many visitors while the durable fixes happen in your code.

Where UserWay pulls ahead is the path beyond the widget. Because it is now part of Level Access, the same vendor can take you from a free button to manual audits, VPAT documentation, and litigation support without switching tools. That continuity matters when a procurement team or a demand letter forces you to prove an active program. The knock against it is the same as every overlay product: a widget alone will not satisfy a sophisticated plaintiff. Used as the front end of a real remediation effort, though, UserWay is a sensible, fast, well-supported choice.
