About Axilor Ventures
Axilor Ventures is a Bengaluru early-stage investor founded in 2014.D. Shibulal, along with Srinath Batni, Harvard professor Tarun Khanna and CEO Ganapathy Venugopal.
Axilor first became known for a 100-day accelerator that ran two batches a year. Over time it moved toward a fund model. In 2018 it launched Axilor Technology Fund I, a Rs 200 crore Category I AIF.
In July 2022 it launched Fund II with a corpus of about $100 million, planning a median cheque of $750,000 and up to $250,000 more in bridge rounds. It set aside 30% of that fund for follow-ons in Fund I winners. In December 2020 it also ran a pre-seed program that offered up to $200,000 per startup and up to $1 million in follow-on capital.
Today the website presents Axilor as a seed fund with 60+ portfolio companies, 7 valued above $100 million and about 400 founders backed. It also mentions Labs for research-led, IP-heavy ideas. Portfolio examples include Medfin, Capgrid and SwitchOn.
Scapic was acquired by Flipkart in 2020. Founders apply through an open form on the site at any time. No 2026 accelerator cohort has been announced.
What Axilor Ventures looks for
Axilor backs early teams building technology businesses in India, with recent activity in supply chain, enterprise tech, B2B commerce, agri, healthcare, climate and fintech. Its portfolio leans B2B and deep tech, from manufacturing vision inspection (SwitchOn) to precision component sourcing (Capgrid). Expect questions about technical depth, the size of the market and whether the founders can reach a priced seed round.
How the Axilor Ventures program works
Axilor no longer advertises a fixed-length accelerator. Startups apply through a rolling form, and the team evaluates them for a seed investment from its technology funds. After investing, Axilor works with founders on hiring, go-to-market and follow-on fundraising, drawing on the operating experience of its Infosys-era founders.
Fund II reserves capital for bridge rounds of up to $250,000 and for doubling down on breakout companies. The website also mentions Labs, a track for research-oriented, IP-led ideas, but gives no public terms. Historically the accelerator ran for 100 days twice a year, and the 2020 pre-seed program took 8 startups in its first cohort.
