What is Seedcamp?

Seedcamp is a London-based pre-seed and seed fund that started in 2007 as one of Europe's first accelerators. It no longer runs fixed cohorts. Today it works as a first-cheque investor with a structured support platform, and it invests year round. Seedcamp says its first cheque is usually between $350,000 and $1.25 million. It uses a standard pre-seed Advanced Subscription Agreement and is comfortable with convertible or equity structures. Its focus is Europe and Israel, plus companies with a distinctly European angle, and it is sector agnostic. The portfolio is the main reason founders know the name. Seedcamp backed Wise, Revolut and UiPath early, along with Synthesia, Pleo and Sorare. It reports more than 550 company journeys. In June 2026 it was reported to have raised $220 million for Seedcamp VII, its flagship first-cheque fund, plus $100 million for its Select fund, which makes follow-on investments in later rounds. Seedcamp does not take board seats. It usually takes a board observer role until the next round or Series A. Support comes from an in-house team covering hiring, go-to-market, product, finance and legal, and from the Seedcamp Nation founder community. It suits European founders raising a first institutional round who want a fast decision.

How the Seedcamp program works

Seedcamp has no fixed batch, demo day or curriculum. After investing, it gives founders access to an in-house team with expertise in hiring, go-to-market, marketing, product, finance and legal. Founders join Seedcamp Nation, the founder community, which includes founder dinners, peer groups and an annual founder ski trip called Skeedcamp. Seedcamp usually takes a board observer seat until the next round or Series A, not a full board seat. Team members in New York and on the US West Coast help portfolio companies expand to the US. Follow-on capital is available through the Seedcamp Select fund for later rounds. Founders can also tap a large network of co-investors and operators when raising their next round.

What Seedcamp looks for

Seedcamp says it looks for founders who are dissatisfied with good enough, act relentlessly, understand their problem deeply and can explain why they are the right people to solve it. It wants teams with the drive to build global, category-defining companies. It invests from pre-product to post-launch. If a company has already raised more than a couple of million dollars, Seedcamp says it is probably not a fit.
