About hub:raum

hub:raum is the tech incubator of Deutsche Telekom. It sits inside Telekom's Products and Innovation unit and has worked with startups since 2012. It runs two prototyping campuses, one at Winterfeldtstrasse 21 in Berlin and one in Krakow, Poland.

Earlier sources also list a Tel Aviv base. When it launched, hub:raum offered seed funding of up to 300,000 euros. That is no longer how it presents itself.

Today the site describes co-creation programs, not an equity accelerator, and it publishes no investment terms. The current model has three parts. First, themed programs such as Tangible Tomorrow, which in 2026 brought 11 startups and university spin-offs working on autonomous networks, photonics, quantum communication and robotics.

Second, the Security Co-Creation Program for AI-driven cybersecurity and network security.0 solutions with Telekom and T-Mobile Polska. The draw is access, not cash.

hub:raum reports 27 innovation programs, 375 startup solutions implemented and 10,000 startups scouted. The Berlin campus offers free coworking for 1 to 8 people per team for 3 to 12 months. As of October 2026, all listed program calls show as closed.

What hub:raum looks for

hub:raum looks for startups whose product gets better on Telekom infrastructure. Recent cohorts worked on autonomous networks, silicon photonics, quantum repeaters, industrial 5G, robotics, IoT device management and AI security. Teams usually have a working prototype or a product ready for a pilot, since programs are built around testing with Deutsche Telekom. University spin-offs are also accepted in Tangible Tomorrow. A clear use case for a Telekom business unit or customer matters more than early revenue.

How the hub:raum program works

hub:raum works in program cycles rather than a fixed accelerator calendar. Each program has a theme set by Deutsche Telekom, for example telecom and human machine interaction in Tangible Tomorrow, or AI security in the Security Co-Creation Program. Selected startups work with Telekom experts on a pilot or proof of concept.

They get technical consultations, access to Telekom networks and APIs, and introductions to business units that could become customers. Teams can also apply to sit on a prototyping campus. In Berlin that means free desks for 1 to 8 people, meeting rooms, an indoor and outdoor 5G test bed, a makers' space and 3D printers, for 3 to 12 months with extension possible.

hub:raum brought 10 startups from its ecosystem to the 4YFN founders' area at MWC 2026. No equity or fee is published for current programs.

How to apply to hub:raum

  1. 1Check the Initiatives page on hubraum.com for a program whose theme matches your product, such as AI security or 5G.
  2. 2Wait for an open call. In October 2026 Tangible Tomorrow 2026 and the Security Co-Creation Program were both marked Application Closed.
  3. 3Prepare a short case for how your product could run on Telekom assets like 5G standalone, connectivity APIs or Wi-Fi Sensing.
  4. 4For desk space only, contact the team through the Get in touch form to ask about a seat on the Berlin or Krakow campus.
  5. 5If shortlisted, expect calls with Telekom experts to scope a pilot before the program starts.
