About Level39
Level39 is a tech community and workspace in Canary Wharf, London, run by Canary Wharf Group. It opened on 18 March 2013 on the 39th floor of One Canada Square. Eric van der Kleij was its founding head.
It is not an accelerator. Level39 does not invest, take equity or run fixed cohorts. Companies pay for membership and get space, events and introductions to the corporates and financial firms on the Canary Wharf estate.
Level39 started as a fintech hub and still leans that way. Its focus areas are now fintech and cyber security, data and AI, sustainability and life sciences. A March 2026 anniversary report says Level39 supports more than 180 businesses across 60,000 sq ft, with a team of 11 backed by Canary Wharf Group staff.
It runs 260+ events and hosts 40+ international trade missions a year. Its best-known alumnus is Revolut, which Level39 says started with two hot desks there before growing into one of the world's most valuable fintechs and taking its own Canary Wharf office. eToro is named among businesses it supports.
A 2026 third-party summary of the site lists Community Membership from 300 pounds a month plus VAT, Coworking from 440 pounds and private offices from 700 pounds per desk. Members also get MentorHours, investor sessions and use of event spaces such as the 200-seat Sandbox.
What Level39 looks for
Level39 wants growing technology companies that fit its focus areas: fintech, cyber security, data and AI, sustainability and life sciences. Members range from early startups to scaleups that need a London base near banks and corporates. There is no published stage limit, revenue bar or selection committee, but Level39 curates its community. Companies that want to sell to financial institutions on the Canary Wharf estate get the most from it.
How the Level39 program works
Level39 runs on membership rather than a program calendar. There are three main tiers. Community Membership includes drop-in working for up to five days a month, events and community introductions.
Coworking adds 24/7 access and bookable hot desks. Private offices are customisable and priced per desk. On top of space, members can join MentorHours39 sessions with mentors, investor sessions, workshops and the CEO Breakfast Club.
Level39 also partners with outside events, such as Sifted Summit in 2026. International delegations and accelerators use the space too. Innovation Norway's Tech Executive Accelerator is one example.
The growth path is physical. Members who scale can move into larger offices on the Canary Wharf estate, as Revolut and Datatonic did.
