About LearnLaunch Accelerator

LearnLaunch Fund + Accelerator is a Boston-based edtech investor that has backed education startups since 2013. It invests only in education companies, across K-12, higher education, workforce development and lifelong learning. In February 2026 it said it had backed 91 edtech companies, that those companies had reached about 60 million learners and that they had raised more than $300 million in additional capital.

The current program is called Breakthrough to Scale. It targets startups that have moved past early validation: they have a working product, market traction and a commitment to better outcomes for learners or educators. The 2026 edition offered an initial $50,000 investment, with a chance at performance-based follow-on capital. Funding is milestone-based, and companies get tailored mentorship, hands-on support from LearnLaunch Venture Partners and access to a network of founders, investors and education leaders.

The first Breakthrough to Scale cohort in 2024 had five startups and ran for 12 weeks, ending with a demo day. Its companies were Highfive, Reflection Sciences, Thriving Students Collective, Prentus and Hardskills, based in cities including Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Miami and Singapore. LearnLaunch also numbers its accelerator cohorts, and Cohort 15 showcased at EDTECH WEEK in New York in October 2025.

Applications for the 2026 program closed on March 20, 2026, and LearnLaunch has not published the next window. Equity terms are not public. Older coverage of the original accelerator described $20,000 for up to 6 percent of common stock, but those terms are dated.

What LearnLaunch Accelerator looks for

LearnLaunch looks for edtech startups that have moved past early validation. The 2026 call asked for a working product, demonstrated market traction and a clear commitment to improving outcomes for learners or educators. Segments are K-12, higher education, workforce development and lifelong learning. The program helps companies build repeatable revenue and a stronger go-to-market plan, so founders should be ready to share sales data and impact measures. Idea-stage teams are not the target.

How the LearnLaunch Accelerator program works

Breakthrough to Scale is a cohort program for edtech startups that already have traction. The 2024 cohort ran for 12 weeks with five companies and ended in a demo day. The work centers on product-market fit, impact measurement, repeatable revenue, go-to-market strategy and scalable operations.

Founders get help from mentors, LearnLaunch Venture Partners and Entrepreneurs in Residence. Funding is milestone-based: the 2026 program started with $50,000 and offered performance-based follow-on capital. Companies also join the LearnLaunch network of founders, investors and education leaders, including pitch events where cohort companies compete.

Applicants had to attend an informational webinar as part of the 2026 process.
