What Is Seedance?

Seedance is a text-to-video and image-to-video model from ByteDance, the company behind TikTok and CapCut. ByteDance brands the current release as Dreamina Seedance 2.0 and offers it in three places: its consumer creative app Dreamina, the BytePlus ModelArk API for developers and enterprises, and third-party platforms such as Higgsfield.

The model has gone through several versions. Higgsfield still offers Seedance 1.5 Pro, which generates 4, 8 or 12 second clips at up to 1080p with native audio. Seedance 2.0 was a big step up. BytePlus describes its main upgrades as cinematic visuals, native audio, realistic physics and director-level camera control. It accepts images, video clips and audio as references in one generation, and it can extend a scene forward or backward. BytePlus opened Seedance 2.0 on its ModelArk API on April 14, 2026, with Fast, Standard and Pro variants.

Seedance 2.5 is the newest version listed on Higgsfield. It supports text-to-video, "omni reference" generation from mixed media, editing an existing clip, and extending a clip in either direction, with single generations up to 30 seconds.

For marketers, the important part is reference control. You can give Seedance a product photo, a sample clip for motion and a music track for rhythm, and it keeps the product and characters consistent across the shot. That makes it well suited to product ads, e-commerce clips and short character-driven stories.

Key Features

Native audio in the same pass. Seedance 2.0 generates sound with the picture. Higgsfield's Seedance page describes synchronized dialogue with lip sync, ambient sound and music. You can switch audio off for silent clips, which also suits ads that will get a voiceover later.

Multimodal references. On Higgsfield, one Seedance 2.0 generation can take up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips, each clip up to 15 seconds, plus a text prompt. You can also set a start frame and an end frame. Higgsfield tags the model for product, multi-SKU and e-commerce work because it holds a product's look steady across frames.

Up to 4K output. Seedance 2.0 in standard mode renders at 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K. Fast mode is cheaper and quicker but limited to 480p and 720p. Seedance 2.0 Mini is a budget variant at 480p and 720p with the same reference inputs.

Clip length from 4 to 30 seconds. Seedance 2.0 generates 4 to 15 seconds per clip. Seedance 2.5 generates 4 to 30 seconds. Higgsfield's Seedance 2.0 page notes that multiple shots can be connected for longer sequences with the same characters.

Multi-shot storytelling. Seedance is built to cut between shots inside one generation while keeping characters and lighting consistent. For a 15 second ad that needs a hook shot, a product close-up and a payoff, that removes a lot of manual stitching.

Editing and extension in 2.5. Seedance 2.5 on Higgsfield can edit one reference video with a text instruction or extend it forward or backward. It also has a draft mode that renders a 480p preview you can finalize at 1080p within seven days, which saves credits while you test ideas.

Every aspect ratio you need. Seedance on Higgsfield outputs 9:16 for TikTok and Reels, 1:1 and 4:3 for feeds, 16:9 for YouTube and 21:9 for cinematic banners.

Pricing

ByteDance sells Seedance directly to developers through BytePlus ModelArk. Resource packs for Dreamina Seedance 2.0 were priced at $4.30 for 1 million tokens, $43 for 10 million tokens and $430 for 100 million tokens, according to BytePlus's launch material. That route needs engineering work, and BytePlus states that Seedance 2.0 on ModelArk is not available in the United States.

On Higgsfield, Seedance runs on credits from a normal subscription. Pricing as shown in Higgsfield's live checkout and third-party pricing reviews in September 2026:

• Starter: about $19 per month for around 270 credits. Reviewers report it reaches only Seedance 2.0 Fast and Mini.
• Plus: $49 per month, or $39 per month billed annually, with 1,000 credits per month. The plan card lists "access to all Seedance models" and full access to Seedance 2.0 and Seedance 2.0 Fast.
• Ultra: $129 per month, or $99 per month billed annually, with 3,000 credits per month and the lowest cost per credit. Also includes all Seedance models.
• Team (Business): $79 per seat per month, or $65 per seat per month billed annually, for 2 to 9 members with pooled credits. Higgsfield's Seedance 2.0 page names the Team plan as a way to get Seedance 2.0.
• Scale (Business): listed at $150 per seat per month billed annually, for 5 to 15 members, with a priority queue and SSO.

Credit cost per Seedance clip depends on the version, mode, resolution and length. A 4K, 15 second Seedance 2.0 clip costs far more than a 720p, 5 second fast-mode draft. Subscription credits reset every cycle and do not roll over.

Seedance vs Kling, Veo and Sora

Seedance vs Kling 3.0. Both support multi-shot sequences, native audio and 15 second clips, and both reach 4K on Higgsfield. Kling 3.0 is strong on motion transfer and has a fast Turbo variant. Seedance 2.0 takes more reference types in one generation: images, video clips and audio together. For product ads built from existing assets, Seedance has the edge. For motion-heavy character shots, test both.

Seedance vs Google Veo 3.1. Veo 3.1 is known for realism and generates audio. On Higgsfield, Veo 3.1 clips run 4, 6 or 8 seconds from a text prompt or a start image. Seedance 2.0 runs longer, up to 15 seconds, and 2.5 runs up to 30 seconds, with far richer reference inputs. Pick Veo for single photoreal shots and Seedance for multi-shot, reference-driven ads.

Seedance vs OpenAI Sora. Sora is OpenAI's video model, used through OpenAI's own products. It was not in Higgsfield's model list when we checked, so comparing it on the same platform is not possible. Why Run Seedance on Higgsfield

There are three main ways to use Seedance: ByteDance's Dreamina app, the BytePlus ModelArk API, or a multi-model platform like Higgsfield. Higgsfield makes the most sense for marketing teams for four reasons.

First, availability. BytePlus says Seedance 2.0 on ModelArk is not available in the United States. Higgsfield offers Seedance in its web app and does not list a US restriction on its Seedance pages.

Second, no engineering. ModelArk is an API priced by tokens. Higgsfield is a web app with presets, templates and a gallery of results.

Third, model choice. On Higgsfield, Seedance shares a credit balance with Kling, Veo, Wan and Higgsfield's own models. If Seedance struggles with one shot, you can rerun it on another model without a second subscription.

Fourth, tools around the model. Higgsfield's Ad Multiplier, which is powered by Seedance 2.5, produces many variations of one ad. Upscaling, lip sync, background removal and Soul ID all work on Seedance output.

The tradeoff is cost. Reddit users have noted that some models are cheaper when bought directly from the model maker, and Higgsfield's credit costs have changed without notice for some Trustpilot reviewers. The SaaSOffers discount on an annual Business plan offsets much of that premium.
